Day 21 – The clock we all ignore

Somewhere, at some point in our blip of a history, some man, with a deep sense of pride in his need for only 5 hrs of sleep every night, invented the light bulb stole the first working bulbs from Heinrich Goebel, oh and Joseph Swan. Thomas Edison, the biggest most celebrated non-inventing thief (to his credit he did invent the electric chair, using Tesla’s knowledge of currents) who changed the world. Actually, why did I even mention Edison? Oh and by the way, Tesla invented alternating current (electrical power), not Edison. TESLA!

So Goebel invented the first light bulb. Then Swan worked on it even more. Then Edison legally stole Swan’s company which became Edison’s light bulb company – now that is how you invent! No wonder society is so screwed when we worship people like this…sigh.

Yet I admire the real inventors, men who dedicated hours and years and lifetime’s, generally all dying broke and alone, and even now not being recognised for their hard work. I am inspired by them, truly.

However, I do not think they fully understood what it is they were creating. No one had the faintest.

For thousands of years we have had a clock. It is found within us, it listens to things outside of us, and it is always consistent. This clock worked so well for so long because it’s batteries, Day and Night, were also intelligible and understood. But now, this vital loyal clock of ours is lagging behind so badly because it can not tell when to tick – where did night and day go?

It would be OK if the clock did not also run our bodies. But it does, and our bodies are as confused as our clock now. Without the clock giving times to release hormones, renew cells, telling us when to sleep, when to wake, when to eat, our bodies are lost. Our clock forgets when the other rhythms of life occur, weekly cycles, monthly cycles, yearly cycles. Our clock is broken, and our bodies aren’t functioning. What happened?

We broke the consistency. We broke day and night. The light bulb, created by men I admire, has had ramifications so severe upon humanity, perhaps the true geniuses would have withheld their invention if they had known.

Practically speaking, we love light after dark. We can work more, study more, read more, entertain ourselves more. We figured out a way to extend the daytime. But, don’t you think day and night have a purpose? From any world-view’s point of sight, they most likely wouldn’t exist if they proved useless….They must and do have a purpose. It’s called TIME KEEPING.

Time has clocks, and clocks read time, and our body reads the clocks, and naturally, our body follows time. This is nature.

We no longer follow nature. In a way, we could say, we live unnaturally – in regards to our days and nights. How can we expect our body to be healthy when we deny its basic needs?
